Hazyview is situated in the Kruger Lowveld region of Mpumalanga, and is known as the gateway to the southern part of the Kruger National Park and the Panorama Escarpment. The name Hazyview is said to relate to the haze that forms over the town during the hot summer months.
Established in 1959 when the post office was built, Hazyview is a popular tourist stop-over for those wishing to go to the Kruger National Park or view the Escarpment, with its panoramic views at God’s Window and over the Blyde River Canyon.
As the adventure centre of Mpumalanga, Hazyview has many activities to offer visitors from hot air ballooning, elephant rides, horse riding and river rafting to name but a few. The town is a hive of activity in season as visitors from all over South Africa and the world flock here to tour the area.
